About the Role

KBR is seeking an experienced Commercial Asset Manager to provide specialist commercial support across strategic Defence-related contracts and complex multi-party arrangements. This role will play a critical part in strengthening contractual governance, supporting audit remediation activities and driving continuous improvement across commercial and contract management functions.

Working closely with key stakeholders, you will provide expert commercial advice, enhance governance frameworks and ensure commercial activities remain aligned with Defence legislative, policy and procurement requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead audit remediation activities, ensuring recommendations are effectively implemented, tracked and closed
  • Strengthen commercial governance by developing fit-for-purpose frameworks, processes and reporting that drive compliance and accountability
  • Review contracts, agreements and operating arrangements to identify risks, governance gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and embed practical tools, templates and procedures that enhance consistency across commercial and contract management activities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, incorporating lessons learned and industry best practices to optimise commercial performance
  • Provide trusted commercial advice to support decision-making, risk management and successful contract outcomes
  • Engage with stakeholders across Defence, industry and governance forums to deliver effective commercial and contractual solutions
  • Ensure commercial activities align with Defence policies, legislative requirements and procurement frameworks

Requirements

Experience and Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in commercial management, contract management or contract governance roles
  • Experience supporting audit remediation programs and governance improvement initiatives
  • Strong understanding of contractual frameworks, compliance obligations and risk management principles
  • Proven ability to develop governance documentation, reporting frameworks, policies and procedures
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a complex operational environment
  • Experience working within Defence, government or highly regulated environments
  • Knowledge of Defence procurement, contracting and governance frameworks
  • Experience working with multi-party commercial arrangements, joint ventures or multi-tenancy agreements

Qualifications and Clearance

  • Relevant qualifications in Commerce, Business, Law, Contract Management or a related discipline
  • Professional accreditation in contract or commercial management
  • Must be an Australian citizen and have a minimum NV1 Australian Security Clearance

Additional Information

As a Major Service Provider of the Australian Defence Force, an AGSVA security clearance will be required and compliance to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is mandatory.
