Shell Energy is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to join our Energy Solutions team based in Sydney. This role is responsible for developing and managing asset management capability across a growing portfolio of distributed energy resources, ensuring strong operational performance, asset availability, risk management and commercial outcomes.
Working closely with technical, commercial and operational stakeholders, you will play a key role in delivering asset performance reporting, managing maintenance programs, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the development of digital asset management platforms.
Responsibilities
With respect, integrity and honesty you will:
- Monitor and optimise the operational, technical and financial performance of a portfolio of distributed energy assets.
- Develop and implement asset management, maintenance and risk management plans to maximise asset availability and commercial outcomes.
- Manage O&M contractors and suppliers, including contract administration, performance reviews and compliance activities.
- Lead defect management, root cause investigations and resolution of asset performance issues.
- Ensure assets operate in accordance with relevant legislation, industry standards and Shell Energy HSSE requirements.
- Support the development of asset management systems, reporting dashboards and analytics to improve visibility and decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability, efficiency and customer outcomes.
- Provide technical support to commercial, sales and risk teams, including input into customer proposals and solutions.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, OEMs and technology partners to deliver operational and business objectives.
- Contribute to the growth and optimisation of Shell Energy's distributed energy resources and demand response portfolio.
Requirements
- Experience in asset management, operations or maintenance within the energy sector.
- A good network of relationships with subcontractors, key technology partners and OEMs.
- Knowledge of distributed energy resources and/or demand response.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with asset management systems and reporting tools.
- Understanding of HSSE, risk management and contractor management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
