Office locations: Parramatta, Newcastle, Wollongong and Queanbeyan, with other locations including Gosford, Taree, Bathurst, Coffs Harbour, Orange, Albury, Nowra and Murwillumbah.

Salary: $116,981 to $129,492 plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

About the Role

As a Senior Valuer in the Commercial & Special Valuations team, you will help deliver complex valuation programs that support government decision-making, financial reporting and strategic property outcomes. You will also have the opportunity to gain exposure and work in other statutory valuation teams throughout the year.

Working with customers, industry professionals and contracted service providers, you'll help drive quality, consistency and integrity across valuation programs.

About You

• Demonstrated experience delivering complex property valuations and providing authoritative valuation advice in a professional environment
• Strong analytical skills, sound professional judgement and the ability to produce high-quality reports, recommendations and valuation outcomes
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex valuation matters clearly and confidently to diverse audiences

Essential Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification that contributes to accreditation with the API or RICS
• Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) with the Australian Property Institute or MRICS accreditation with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, or eligibility to obtain within 12 months of employment
• Current driver licence and willingness to travel

About Value NSW

Value NSW (VNSW), part of the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, delivers the valuation system for rating and taxing as well as compulsory acquisition compensation purposes via delegation of the Valuer General of NSW.

Key responsibilities include:

• Making more than 2.7 million residential, rural, commercial and industrial valuations annually, with a total value of approximately $3 trillion as well as managing compulsory acquisition determinations in situations where government cannot reach agreement, totalling over $1 billion per annum
• Delivering customer services and experience for 2.7 million landholders per annum – receiving up to 50,000 calls and many more enquiries
• Monitoring, assurance and governance pertaining to the quality of the valuations undertaken relevant to both the Valuation of Land Act 1916 and the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991

VNSW also provides specialised valuation activities, services and determinations for other cluster or statewide government partners – including being responsible for the delivery of all valuations for government property transactions as defined by the Government Property Framework and Treasurer's Directions as well as sector wide asset valuations of up to around $700 billion for financial accounting purposes.
