About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated finance professional to join our team on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract, covering a period of parental leave. As Trust Accountant, you will report directly to the Finance Manager, Mandates, and play a key role in delivering mandate accounting, reporting and tax compliance across a diverse and high-profile portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing and recording monthly head trust accrual journal entries
- Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing monthly financial information to support unit pricing and investor reporting
- Calculating quarterly management fees and preparing quarterly distribution calculations
- Reviewing monthly BAS workings
- Preparing quarterly statements of taxable income and annual tax returns
- Preparing and monitoring the Mandate reporting timetable to ensure all deadlines are met
- Raising purchase orders for head trust expenses and processing service receipts
- Responding to queries from external auditors in a timely and professional manner
- Supporting special projects and providing ad hoc analysis and reporting as required by the business or investors
What we're looking for
You are a driven and detail-oriented accounting professional who is eager to join a fast-paced and collaborative environment. You will have:
- A Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent degree
- CA/CPA qualification underway or nearing completion
- 2-3 years' experience in professional services and/or an accounting related role
- A solid understanding of accounting standards
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
- A keen eye for detail and a proactive, can-do attitude
- Good time management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities
- Exposure to SAP and/or HFM would be a bonus, but isn't essential
- A background in property and/or funds management would be well regarded, but again, not essential
