About the role

As a result of business growth and a strong development pipeline, we have a rare, exciting opportunity for a Development Manager, Retail to work on strategic developments across our Retail portfolio.

This is a hands on role, that will manage all aspects of the development lifecycle from concept creation and feasibility assessment through to planning, design development and delivery. The role will partner closely with our asset teams to ensure alignment and setting of development plans for a quality end product that exceeds customer expectations.

What you will be doing

  • Leading development projects end to end to ensure delivery of agreed outcomes including cost control, quality, program and returns.
  • Developing the future retail master plans, updating where required for all GPT managed retail assets.
  • Assessing and providing input to development opportunities to determine optimal and best-use retail development across a portfolio of assets.
  • In conjunction with the development finance team, preparing and managing feasibility studies for investment proposal assessments and internal approvals in line with GPT's Development Framework.
  • Leading WHS management processes as required for the development and be a leader in respect of our Health and Safety culture.
  • Providing input and driving new and existing opportunities across key retailers including Major and Mini Major Tenants, including the preparation of proposals, key background information and tenant documentation to inform recommendations.

What makes you stand out

  • Hands on experience in delivery of retail projects from design, documentation, leasing and construction phases.
  • Capability in project and construction management, able to negotiate contracts and manage budgets with a high degree of commerciality.
  • Demonstrated experience in Major and Mini Major leases.
  • Tertiary qualified in a property or business related discipline.
  • High level of self-motivation and collaboration in your approach.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and able to influence a broad range of stakeholders for successful outcomes.
  • A team player who wants to broaden and grow their career in a challenging and fast paced environment.
