ALS is one of Australia's leading providers of water testing, sampling and advisory services - processing over one million water samples annually and trusted by water utilities, government agencies and environmental consultants to deliver accurate, defensible data.
The Opportunity
Based at our laboratory in Scoresby, this is a commercially focused role leading market expansion across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. You'll target large government-funded projects, build long-term client relationships and position ALS Water as the laboratory partner of choice across the water sector. You'll work closely with Senior Managers and technical teams to develop client-specific solutions, respond to major tenders and represent ALS with professionalism across the industry.
Regular travel across VIC, SA and TAS is required.
What You'll Do
- Drive new business and market expansion across the VIC, SA and TAS water sector
- Identify and win large government-funded projects and high-value opportunities
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with water utilities, government agencies, consultants and industry clients
- Deliver on-time, high-quality quotations, tenders and proposals
- Customise client-specific solutions and support Senior Managers with their business development activities
- Research market drivers, trends and potential clients to inform strategy
- Prepare tenders, technical bulletins and marketing literature
- Actively network through key industry associations, conferences and events
- Maintain current knowledge of market trends and competitor activity
- Uphold ALS brand standards and comply with all global policies and directives
What You'll Bring
Essential
- Proven business development, sales or account management experience with a track record of winning new business
- Background in water, environmental, laboratory or government-related sectors
- Experience navigating government procurement, tenders and long sales cycles
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Self-driven, commercially minded and comfortable working autonomously
Highly Regarded
- Existing network across VIC, SA and/or TAS water utilities, CMAs or government agencies
- Familiarity with PFAS, environmental compliance or drinking water quality programs
- Active involvement in AWA, WIOA or other water industry associations
