About the Role

Since launching to market in 2019, Athena has settled over $5.8bn of home loans. This has been achieved with a strong brand and excellent direct to consumer channel approach. Over the past 12 months Athena has been building out market leading capability to win in the broker channel. We are now looking for an excellent BDM to help us build and maintain great relationships with brokers in Queensland.

This is a key role within Athena, responsible for:

• Sales Performance – Responsible for application results across our aggregator partners
• Broker relationships – Being the "go to person" for your brokers, building and maintaining outstanding relationships
• Pipeline management – Proactively managing a pipeline of Broker scenarios and submitted Apps, constantly striving for the ultimate Broker & Customer Experience
• New broker development – Seeking out new Broker relationships, nurturing these relationships until they become vocal advocates for Athena, true raving fans. You are a great presenter and a "coach"
• Broker onboarding – Running interactive Broker onboarding sessions to provide in depth knowledge of Athena, who we are, what we do, the Customers that are right for Athena, our product & process
• Communication – You are very engaging over phone, SMS, email and Zoom. Majority of the time will be on the road for Broker face-to-face visits, PD days, Broker events etc.
• Aggregator relationships – Manage relationships with aggregators including partnership managers and state leaders
• Internal decision making – Contributing to discussions in Athena about opportunities and ways to improve
• Policy – Work with Cyber, Tech, Risk, and other functions to get to effective policy outcomes
• Platform feedback – Provide feedback and ideas to help ensure that Athena platforms are the best in the market

Who We Are Looking For

You are based in Brisbane, QLD and have the following attributes:

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar BDM role managing relationships with broker networks and individual brokers
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships – with brokers, credit teams and clients
• Great focus on sales and conversion
• Exceptional communication skills – clear, engaging, and professional
• Self motivated
• Focused on continuous development
• Critical thinker and confident in decision making
