About the role

Over the past 12 months Athena has been building market leading capability to win in the broker channel. We are looking for an excellent BDM to help us build and maintain great relationships with brokers in NSW.

This is a key role within Athena. You will be responsible for:

  • Sales Performance – application results across our aggregator partners
  • Being the "go to person" for your brokers
  • Broker relationships – building and maintaining outstanding relationships, proactively managing a pipeline of broker scenarios and submitted applications, constantly striving for the ultimate broker and customer experience
  • New broker acquisition – seeking out new broker relationships, nurturing these until they become vocal advocates for Athena and true raving fans
  • Broker onboarding – running interactive sessions to provide in-depth knowledge of Athena, our customers, products and process; you are a great presenter and coach
  • Communication – being very engaging over phone, SMS, email and Zoom; majority of time will be on the road for broker face-to-face visits, PD days and broker events
  • Aggregator relationships – managing relationships with aggregators, partnership managers and state leaders
  • Internal contributions – contributing to discussions about opportunities and ways to improve
  • Policy – working with Cyber, Tech, Risk and other functions to achieve effective policy outcomes
  • Platform feedback – providing feedback and ideas to ensure Athena platforms are best in market

Who we are looking for

You are based in NSW and have the following attributes:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar BDM role managing relationships with broker networks and individual brokers
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with brokers, credit teams and clients
  • Great focus on sales and conversion
  • Exceptional communication skills – clear, engaging and professional
  • Self motivated
  • Focused on continuous development
  • Critical thinker and confident in decision making
