About the Role
We're looking for a passionate and driven Business Development Manager – Golf & Sporting Groups to join the team at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort, home to one of Australia's most iconic golf courses.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for golf and a proven sales background to drive business growth across Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and Elysia Wellness Retreat. You'll focus on developing new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and positioning our properties as leading destinations for golf and sporting group experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to grow golf and sporting group business
- Identify and build relationships with key clients across golf clubs, sporting organisations, schools, and leisure travel markets
- Generate new business through proactive sales activity, networking, and tailored proposals
- Collaborate with resort operations, events, revenue, and marketing teams to deliver exceptional group experiences
- Represent the properties at industry events, trade shows, and golf tournaments
- Conduct client meetings and site inspections while maintaining accurate CRM records and sales reporting
- Build strategic partnerships with tourism and sporting organisations to drive group bookings and revenue
Requirements
- 2–4 years' experience in business development or sales, ideally within the golf, hospitality, tourism, or sporting industries
- A proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing key accounts
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences
- A professional presentation and genuine enthusiasm for golf and sporting events
